FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Valencia Systems Selected by ADC Telecommunications for Management Technology

Orlando, FL, July 17, 2000.Valencia Systems Inc. announced today that it has been selected to provide key Network Management technology to ADC Telecommunications, (Nasdaq:ADCT) a leading global supplier of network equipment, software, and integration services for broadband and multiservice networks.

Valencia Systems has created a highly scalable network infrastructure performance management system for proactively managing network growth through careful monitoring of traffic history and trends. Dubbed Aruba(TM), the system automatically collects and stores network usage statistics across the entire network and provides summary and detail reporting on utilization, availability, volumes, errors and trends.

ADC chose to incorporate Aruba into their product offerings to round out their suite of proactive network management capabilities. "We evaluated a number of potential solutions, but chose Aruba for its comprehensive reporting capabilities, its flexibility and ease of use, and its superior scalability," said Clyde Jenkins, Vice President and General Manager of ADC Access Products. "And its modular architecture and exclusive use of Java made it easy to incorporate into our product family."

"ADC's selection clearly validates Aruba's architecture," said Steve Christle, President and Co-Founder of Valencia Systems. "Their confidence in our architecture results in Valencia's technology being powerfully exposed to the telecommunications market as well as allowing both companies to more completely address the network performance management market."

Aruba manages any installed network equipment that supports SNMP and standard interface MIBs, and collects performance data on network components such as LAN, WAN, ATM, and Frame Relay (port and PVC) interfaces. It's 100% Java and is available on Windows NT and 2000, HPUX, AIX and Solaris. Reports are made available using any standard Web browser and through a flexible query tool included with the distributed system console application. The modular architecture of Aruba allows it to scale to cost-effectively monitor hundreds to hundreds of thousands of network interfaces.
