FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Valencia Systems Announces Aruba 2.0

New Version Integrates Real-Time and Historical Performance Reporting, and is Easier to Use

Orlando, FL, April 23, 2001.Valencia Systems Inc. today introduced an enhanced version of its innovative Aruba network infrastructure performance management solution — adding powerful new reporting capability, including real-time troubleshooting and fault diagnosis functionality. While the enhanced Aruba 2.0 offers significant new reporting, it is even easier to use than the original version introduced last May.

Network operations staff in particular will find that the new real-time reporting function greatly simplifies troubleshooting and diagnosis of faults. Real-time information can be displayed along with historical statistics, providing greater intelligence for understanding the full context of a network outage.

"With today's IT budget and staffing crunch, it is even more important, yet more difficult, to fix problems quickly," said Steve Christle, president of Valencia Systems. "Aruba helps network operations see the complete picture, from detection through diagnosis, historically and in real time."

Additionally, Aruba 2.0 improves management level reporting, allowing users to quickly compare volume, utilization, availability, delay, and exceptions between organizational or geographical network groups. Network managers have always had easy access to Aruba's historical data with a simple "point and click" interface, but reporting from Aruba's entire performance database is now even faster with new navigational controls.

Administrators will appreciate the additional system tuning and flexibility that Aruba 2.0 delivers. Aruba 2.0 also includes an auto-discovery function that allows them to add devices quickly and simply. Scalability and database performance are improved as well; Aruba 2.0 is even faster than before in large networks.

Aruba 2.0 is available now at a starting price of $5,000 for a Windows NT-based system. It is also available for HP-UX, AIX and Solaris UNIX operating environments.

More About Aruba

Aruba is a network infrastructure performance monitoring and trending system that collects operational statistics from SNMP-manageable network devices — routers, switches and hubs.

Aruba produces clear, easy-to-understand Web-based reports that let network managers:

  • See where and how quickly their network is changing,
  • Predict utilization trends based on historical usage,
  • Identify problem areas before they become outages, and
  • Verify that their service quality goals have been met.
